If they sink, they are fresh, if they float with the larger end up, they have aged, but are not bad, they just won't work well for sunny -side-up presentation. You will want to scramble or hard boil older eggs. The floating just means they have evaporated some, making a larger air pocket inside. When kept in the refrigerator, eggs do not go bad, They evaporate until there is just a thick gel inside.
