So simple and delicious. Add honey if you need a sweeter drink, but this time of the year the melons are so sweet on their own. I have tried this with many varieties of melon and they all made an excellent drink.
This recipe makes yummy popsicles too. I just made some last night with yellow honeydew, a bit of kale and dulse. They were a brilliant green and the kids gobbled them up today.
4 cups chopped melon
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 tablespoon flax oil (optional)
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
I was just looking for a yummy popsicle recipe for Luthien's birthday- can't wait to try! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe always love watermelon smoothies---I never thought to put flaxseed oil in. Cool! Do you think they would make good popscicles? Would the oil make them not freeze as well?
ReplyDeleteThis may be a stupid question but do you do anything to the kale before you use it for popsicles? Or just use it raw?
ReplyDeleteThe only stupid questions are ones I already answer in my post;) This one has not been addressed, so I will consider it a brilliant question.
ReplyDeleteI just wash the kale, cut off the very end where it has turned brown, and toss it in, stem and all.
